Project Bunny Bomb
So enter the parts car, this is the one you will see from here on out. After getting it home and looking it over we decided, and by that I mean me, that he needed to build it instead. It was in good shape and had air which is what he wanted. It also still had decent enough guts. James was a little upset but he quickly got over it when we got the details from the previous owner. The car had sat since 2001 after a new timing belt install. Turns out they could get it to run after that . So my buddy Pete comes over last year and we switched some wires around and couldn't get it to fire still. Well it turns out the fuel pump is shot so we pull a vac hose and spray a little carb clean in and wallah it pops off. So there you have a motor that was a 180 deg off. Since then we have replaced the pump and most of the fuel lines( some of the hard lines were rusted, so we made our own, 180 PSI injector rated fuel line and EFI clamps. It is now a running Rabbit, it runs rough but it does run. So here are the pics and more will follow.
So James and I have done quite a lot of work on this little Bunny now. It runs great now and under all the grime it shines. We received a nice rear disc swap from a friend here in Iowa including brake lines. But the rust is a problem It needs new floors and some rocker work. And some one in the past had hit a deer.
Here is the box of parts for the rear disc swap. And pics of James doing the swap and putting in new wheel bearings ( he hated hand packing them, but i thought it was important for him to learn how to instead of using a tool) Kris and I bent the new lines and T.J. buffed it to see if the shine would come back.
So breaks done complete with Good ridge braided lines. On to the buff.
